Cruise Holidays To Barbados

Overview

Typical barbados beachBarbados has a distinctly British flavour, not least a statue of Nelson, an Anglican cathedral and a great love of cricket. It's here that the final of the Cricket World Cup takes place in 2007. Bridgetown, the capital, is fantastic for shopping and pottering around, although most people try to get out and explore the island, either on a tour or by self-drive mini-moke.

There are beautiful beaches and exclusive resorts all up the western Caribbean coast, while the eastern, Atlantic coast is pounded by breakers and strong winds, and is wild and dramatic. Things to see include tropical gardens, caves, plantation houses, rum distilleries and pretty chattel houses, some very old. There are several excellent restaurants and the island has a laid back, friendly feel.

Ships dock at the cruise terminal, about 15 minutes’ drive (or a long walk) from Bridgetown . The terminal itself is packed with shops, should you not have a chance to get into town because you’re on a tour.
