Cruise Holidays To British Virgin Islands - Tortola
Overview
Road Town on Tortola is the capital of the British Virgin Islands, which are quite different in nature to their American neighbours – much quieter and distinctly laid-back. The BVI, as they are known, are a paradise for sailors and attract a huge yachting crowd every year.
Ships dock at the edge of Road Town , an easy walk into the town where there are shops, galleries and the famous Sunny Caribbee spice emporium, a popular call for most visitors wanting to stock up on locally-made herbs, spices and cosmetics.
Most excursions revolve around sightseeing on this beautiful, mountainous island, or day trips on sailing boats to some of the nearby islands for swimming and barbecue lunches. You can also do a rainforest walk on Sage Mountain , or go mountain biking, or simply laze on the beach and watch pelicans diving for fish.
