Cruise Holidays To Grenada
Overview
Grenada is known as the Spice Island and for good reason, as it produces a large crop of nutmeg every year, as well as vanilla, cinnamon and mace. The island is green and mountainous and excursions include rainforest hikes and trips to see dramatic waterfalls, often with a chance to swim in the middle of the forest. St George's , the small capital, has a fantastic daily spice market, packed with local colour.
Ships dock just in front of the town and you can walk into the centre. The sandy sweep of Grand Anse Beach is also an easy taxi journey. Otherwise, take a boat tour to go whale and dolphin spotting, or join an island tour to see lush countryside, rum distilleries and spice factories.
