Cruise Holidays To Ibiza
Overview
Contrary to its reputation as club capital of Europe, Ibiza is a beautiful, peaceful island with a fascinating history and lots to see. An increasing number of ships calls here in summer; if possible, pick one which spends the evening or at least departs after dark, as the Dalt Vila (the old part of Ibiza town overlooking the port) is stunning at night when it’s all floodlit and evening is the best time to explore the town.
Ships dock right up against the Passeig Maritim. Simply walk from here towards Dalt Vila and you’re in the heart of the action. The area of Sa Marina, around the base of the rock, is packed with open air bars and restaurants and countless market stalls and hippy-chic boutiques. After sunset, this area becomes packed with revellers parading the streets before heading to the island’s famous nightclubs.
The rest of Ibiza is easy to explore. Small motorboats run shuttle services to various bays and resorts; on Wednesdays, there will be regular boats towards Es Canar in the north, where’s there’s a big hippie market.
Typical excursions include sleepy Formentera, or a tour of Ibiza, or a boat trip with lunch on one of the many beaches.
