Cruise Holidays To Malaga and Costa Del Sol

Overview

Coasta Del Sol Beach and SeaDespite being seen mainly as the gateway to the Costa del Sol, Malaga is a pleasant city in its own right, with a wonderful historical centre and a dramatic Moorish castle perched on a hilltop. If you don’t want to go on an excursion, wander through the old town (15 minutes from the dock) to the wonderful Picasso Museum and sample tapas in some of the many bars in the narrow streets.

Nearby, glamorous Marbella is a pleasant town with old, whitewashed houses at the centre around the Plaza des Naranjos (Orange Tree Square). People-watching and shopping are the main activities, especially at Puerto Banus, further along the coast. There are more than 50 golf courses within easy reach – book in advance, especially in spring and autumn, and arrange to be met by a taxi at the port.

A wide variety of excursions is offered along the Costa del Sol including day trips to Ronda and the ‘pueblos blancos’ (white towns) in the mountains; visits to Mijas, the closest white town; and day trips to Granada, Seville and Jerez.
