Palma nestles at one end of a wide bay, in summer, packed with glamorous yachts. The old city has been beautifully preserved and there are many magnificent old houses and palaces packed into the Gothic Quarter around the cathedral, which dominates the skyline. The city buzzes with life round the clock and there is no shortage of hip bars, open air restaurants and even English pubs.

Ships dock in the port at the far end of the bay, a 15-minute shuttle ride into town.
