Cruise Holidays To Santorini

Overview

The approach to Santorini is incredibly dramatic, sailing into the crater of a vast, extinct volcano. The capital, Fira, spills over the black, volcanic cliffs like scattered sugar cubes. Ships drop anchor at the base of the cliff and passengers are ferried by tender to the dock. From here, you can either walk up the steep, zig-zag path, ride a donkey or take the cable car.

The town itself has incredible views and fantastic shopping, with endless jewellery shops, as well as fashion, art galleries and some very chic bars. Popular excursions include Oia, the island’s second town (location of the famous blue-domed churches you see in postcards) and the ongoing excavations at nearby Akrotiri.
