Cruise Holidays To Sete
Overview
The port of Sete, founded in medieval times, is used as the gateway to Montpellier and Carcassone, two of France’s most impressive medieval towns and both very popular day trips.
Sete itself is pretty, its centre criss-crossed with canals and waterways and lined with pastel-coloured houses. The centre is easily walkable from the dock and you can also climb up the hill, Mont St-Clair, to the sailors’ cemetery, for fantastic views.
Trips to the ancient university town of Montpellier take half a day, while Carcassone is a full day away. It’s a stunning sight, with massive ramparts surrounding the old city and 52 towers.
